Telehealth
SageWell Health is committed to making therapy accessible.
Our virtual services (also known as telehealth) allow clients to access therapy from wherever they are, making routine appointments realistic and time-efficient, while still providing the highest quality care. All services are conducted via a HIPAA-compliant online platform that protects your privacy and can be accessed through a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Read below for additional information about telehealth or request a consultation to learn more.
What is needed for virtual therapy visits?
A private and quiet space to talk
A strong internet connection
A device with a camera and a microphone such as a smart phone, tablet, or computer
Access to Google Chrome or Firefox browsers (these browsers are better supported for the telehealth platform we use, see below)
*Note: Accessing the internet through a cell phone data plan is typically not strong enough to support virtual video sessions. A strong wireless or ethernet internet connection is needed.
What online platform do you use for virtual sessions?
Privacy is a top priority when it comes to telehealth. We use two different online platforms (doxy.me and Google Meets) that are HIPAA compliant, meaning they uphold the highest standard of privacy in the healthcare industry. Please let us know if you have any questions about privacy or set up when it comes to telehealth.
*Note: it is important to use Google Chrome or Firefox browsers when using doxy.me, as this platform does not support other browsers such as Safari or Internet Explorer.
How does it work?
We will email you a link for the login to doxy.me prior to your appointment. When you pull up the link at the time of your appointment, you fill in your name to “sign in” and it will take you to a virtual waiting room. From there, your therapist will start the video to begin your session. Please allow for a few extra minutes before your appointment to log in in the event of any technology issues. If the login is not working or you are having internet issues, please call or email your therapist to troubleshoot together.
How else can I set up my virtual therapy sessions for success?
Testing your internet speed prior to your first session (https://www.speedtest.net)
Reviewing doxy.me’s requirements to ensure your device is equipped for telehealth (doxy.me)
Having a well lit space where you are not in front of a window to avoid backlighting
Picking a consistent spot in your home as your “therapy space” that is away from family members, roommates, or any distractions
Setting up a fan or white noise machine in or outside the room if privacy is a potential concern
Letting anyone that will be home at the time of your session know that you are in therapy and will need privacy
